About Us

The Committee for Gay and Lesbian Ministry (formerly the Committee on Homophile Ministry) serves the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community and reaches out to non-gay members of congregations in the Diocese of Rochester. Through education and outreach, the committee encourages congregations that wish to support and welcome lesbian and gay Christians within their local communities. The committee also seeks to further the cause of recognition and legitimization of lesbian and gay relationships within the church and in civil society.

In our more than 20 years of existence, we have helped to educate local parishes about the needs and concerns of the LGBT community.
